About

Hello! My name is Jessica, aka 305! Addicted to coffee, books, gardening, vinyl, and antique stores, I like to write and share with others. I hope that you find something you like here, that you kick back, take a sip, and enjoy!

“Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping… waiting… and though unwanted… unbidden… it will stir… open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us… guides us… passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love… the clarity of hatred… and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe we’d know some kind of peace… but we would be hollow… Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d be truly dead.”

-Joss Whedon

Some Fun: Wrote this while reflecting on on my family and our heritage a long time ago….

Where I am From

For the Kungl’s

I am from music,

from Muddy Waters and Purple Haze.

I am from doors and windows

with dusty pasts.

I am from fields of soybeans and lakes of bass,

from thunderstorms and sunshine.

I am from family dinners and rowdy laughs,

from Gottfried and Jacqueline.

I am from joyful screams and

conspiring smiles.

From the man who can see into my heart,

the woman who finds me.

I am from bread and wine and

books of the gods.

I am from the Black Forest and foreign winds,

from apple strudel and ponenoodle.

From the fields Oma slept in during times of war,

and Opa’s stories from days gone by.

From cardboard boxes holding life on pause, collecting dust in the

bottom of a forgotten closet, keeping faded smiles,

Lost to the vortex of time.
